We visited on Thursday:
PASTA STEAL NIGHT
So that meant they had a limited edition pasta 😋to try from Chef Ben👨🍳; tonight that was the $22 Salumi 🥓and Beef ragu🍝 (Handcut tri-colour pasta, crispy basil🌿, whipped ricotta, salsa verde, black pepper) The pasta was perfectly al dente. Very tasty sauce with a slight lemony zest. The meat was tender and the beef was dominant in flavour with a hint of salumi coming through. Crispy basil added a nice textural component.
Other mains tried:
$22 Refuge Burger🍔 (local beef🥩, burger sauce, lettuce🥬, cheese, tomato🍅, onion, pickles, vegan bun, fries🍟 and chipotle sauce) This was at risk of being a cheeseburger – but then you taste it! Proper beef patty with amazing moist taste and great texture. balanced components with lovely crispy chips.
$22 Beef Brisket Tacos🌮 (slow-smoked brisket😶🌫️, corn tortilla, creamed corn🌽, house hot 🌶️sauce, pickled cabbage) GF Corn tortilla was a little bland but allowed the other flavours to soaked in nicely. The cabbage was juicy, salty and vinegary. Creamed corn had a mild nutty taste. Overall very saucey and quite spicy. Again the beef was very nicely cooked.
